Why “Loom + Lore” ?

Loom + Lore was born from the belief that healing is both an art and a story — a process of weaving together the threads of our experiences with the narratives we carry and create.

The word "Loom" symbolizes the process of weaving: the delicate, intentional act of bringing separate strands together to form something whole. In many Indigenous cultures, weaving holds deep meaning — it's a sacred act of creation, tradition, and connection. Just as weaving intertwines fibers, therapy weaves together memory, identity, and emotion, helping us make meaning and build strength from what has been.

"Lore" speaks to the stories that shape us — those passed down through generations, held in our communities, and carried in our bodies. For Indigenous peoples, stories are medicine. They teach, guide, and connect us to our ancestors and the land. In therapy, we explore these stories — honoring the ones that have shaped us, letting go of those that have caused harm, and making space for new narratives to emerge.

Together, Loom + Lore represents a space where healing and self-discovery intertwine. It’s a place where we honour the past, draw from cultural wisdom, and co-create a future rooted in authenticity, resilience, and care.
